Decisions
on planning a Walt Disney World
vacation comes with many questions. Sometimes it is simply cost that
makes a difference. If Disney is offering a special we will have it
listed here.
Walt Disney World is huge with 4 theme
parks and 2 waterparks plus
Disney's Downtown shopping area. We have more than 20 visits and can
assist you with all your planning stages. For a person who has never
been it can be overwhelming. We can help you with some of the basic
questions and if you have any others you can contact us and we would be
glad to help. With a simple click of your mouse on the picture below, the Walt Disney Resort ® Resort e-Brochure will magically open. The brochure is filled with colorful maps, photos, resort profiles, vacation package information and more. Plus it's easy to use; you can flip pages, zoom in for easier reading and print pages for future reference. A few questions you might ask yourself the first time you go are: 1. When to go? First thing to consider is how much you want to spend as different times of the year price differently. Then decide if the kid's school schedule or adults work schedules will influence your decision. Upcoming Events at Walt Disney World The Atlanta Braves Spring Training at Wide World of Sports, February 17 through March 29; individual game tickets are on sale now ESPN The Weekend, March 3-5 at the Disney-MGM Studios, more information at http://www.espntheweekend.com Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, April 21- June 11 Grad Nite, April 28-29, May 5-6 (Magic Kingdom will close early these nights) Star Wars Weekends, four consecutive weekends at the Studios, unofficially starting May 19 Tom Joyner Family Reunion, September 1-4 Walt Disney World Triathlon, September 24 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, September 29-November 12 Mousefest, December 7-11 WDW Half Marathon and Marathon, January 6 and 7, 2007 2. How long you're going to stay? Disney has 4 Major theme parks (Epcot, Disney MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom) plus water parks and Disney Quest and shopping at Downtown Disney. So much to see and do and so little time. Do you want to see it all on your first visit? You would have to stay a month to see it all. For a first time visit a stay of one week is optimal. If you want to visit all four theme parks and actually experience the majority of the attractions, parades and shows, you will need at least 5 full days! One day for each park plus one day to see what you really wanted to see but did not get a chance to. Of course on your first visit you can not possible see it all. I have been over 20 times and still have not seen it all. Plus if you want to go to any of the waterparks Pleasure Island or DisneyQuest you will need to allow extra days for those as well. 7 days is the best number of days for a first visit to enjoy the full experience of everything that Disney has to offer. A family of 4 (based on 2 adults and 2 children ( a junior and child) can enjoy a weeks vacation for about $1500.00. 3. What kind of theme park tickets should you buy? Walt Disney World tickets are expensive. The more days you purchase the less per day the cost is. Below is listed the current prices. Look over your itinerary and then take a look at the prices and figure out which tickets make sense for your vacation plans. 4. Where should you stay? One decision you have is whether to stay on Disney property, or off-site. If you're considering an on-site resort stay, you need to decide which resort fits your family best. If you will be staying for 5 nights or more at a Disney resort, that's a big investment and since we are a Disney Specialist travel agent we would be glad to help you through the whole process. We have stayed at almost all of the Disney resort and can offer you suggestions that will best fit your family. We will even rebook your resort reservations if a better discount becomes available. Email us if you would like us to help you plan your magical vacation. Click here to see descriptions of the resorts and photos of some. 5. Dining plan or not If you are considering the dining plan keep in mind that character meals are included and if you are going to enjoy a few of these you might want to consider getting the dining plan. Check out where the character meals are through out Walt Disney World. 6. Planning your itinerary? It is never to early to start planning your days at Disney. Doing research before you leave will help make your vacation more enjoyable. We can help you with all the details right down to the best place to eat. Deciding on the parks you want to visit, will help you decide the hotels or resort that fits your family best. Some are more convienent to the parks than others. Resorts on Disney property are all with in 15 minutes bus ride to all of the parks. Our personal reccommenation of a guide book to reference is "The unnofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" by Bob Sehlinger. 7. How you're getting from the airport to your hotel (if you're flying). There are lots of options. One is to use Disney's Magical Express, or you could take a taxi or if you would like personalized service you can use a towncar service. We reccommend Quicksilver. That's
it! Enjoy your planning as it can be a very fun part of the
trip!
